Youth Transitions Program (Independent Living Program)

Oregon Department of Human Services

State program for current and former foster youth covering skill-building, Youth Transition Funds, the Chafee Education and Training Grant (up to $5,000 per year through age 25), and housing subsidies for those aging out. Youth still in care go through their caseworker; youth already out call to request an ILP case.

Who it's for

Age 14+ in ODHS or Tribal foster care, or former foster youth under 24 who left care at 14 or older with at least 180 days in placement after age 13; Chafee ETG available until age 26

How to get in

In care: ask your caseworker. Out of care: call 855-503-7233 to request an ILP case, or contact a local ILP provider if 18–23. Email ilp.central@odhs.oregon.gov
