Office of Programs and Reentry Services
Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services
The state prison system's reentry arm. Reentry Specialists meet people inside within 180 days of release to run a needs assessment covering documents, housing, work, health care and benefits, build an Individualized Reentry Release Plan, and hand over a resource packet before the gate. Family members and recently released people can call the office with questions.
Who it's for
People in DPSCS custody or on supervision; the Local Reentry Program requires 30 days to 1 year left, minimum security, and a verified tie to the return county.
How to get in
Inside: ask your case manager for a Reentry Specialist. Outside: call 877-379-8636 or 410-585-3300.
