Program for current and former foster youth ages 14 to 23 that offers matched savings accounts, stipends for participating in events, life skills training, and youth leadership boards. Enrollment runs through a county MYOI coordinator.
Who it's for
Michigan youth 14–23 active in foster care or juvenile justice placement, or ages 18–23 who were in an eligible placement on or after their 14th birthday and are no longer under MDHHS supervision
How to get in
Verify eligibility with the local MYOI county coordinator, complete the enrollment packet, finish eight hours of financial literacy training, and open an Individual Development Account plus a personal savings account.
