Extended Foster Care (AB 12)

Lets California foster youth stay in care from 18 to 21 with case management, housing payments, and Independent Living Program services. Youth who already left care can re-enter before 21 by contacting their former social worker or county child welfare agency.
Who it's for
Ages 18–21 with a foster care placement order on their 18th birthday; must be in school, working 80 hours a month, in a job program, or unable to due to a medical condition
How to get in
Sign the Mutual Agreement (SOC 162) with your social worker within six months of turning 18; to re-enter, contact your former social worker, probation officer, or county child welfare agency for a Voluntary Re-Entry Agreement
