Community Reentry Services, Division of Rehabilitative Programs

Metropolitan Ministries
Tampa Bay nonprofit serving poor and homeless families and individuals in Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas with emergency family shelter, a food market, rent and utility help and job training. Its Metro BrigAIDe mobile outreach team helps with IDs, SNAP and Medicaid applications and housing assessments at more than 20 sites.
Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida
Low-barrier residential shelter in downtown Orlando serving about 500 men, women and children a day, with free meals, Housing First case management and a diversion program that helps people find housing outside the shelter system.

The state's NARR affiliate, which certifies sober living and recovery residences under Florida Statute 397.487. Its online provider list is the place to check whether a recovery residence is certified, and it accepts grievances about residences that fall short of standards.
United Way 211 Greater Atlanta
Free, confidential referral line staffed around the clock that points Atlanta-area callers to rent and utility help, food pantries, shelter beds, and other services. The team also handles web chat and a texting option for people who cannot talk.
Reentry Services - Operations Support Division
The state unit that plans release for people in Georgia prisons and follows them into the community. Pre-release staff inside GDC facilities identify needs, community coordinators in every judicial circuit link people to housing, jobs and mentors, and the Housing Resources unit runs the THOR and Reentry Partnership Housing beds.
Gateway Center

Charlotte's largest homeless services provider, with a Day Services Center offering showers, laundry, mail, lunch, a nurse, and help getting ID, plus emergency shelters that do not require photo ID. Oak City Cares
Wake County's multi-service hub for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness, with care coordinators, weekday showers and laundry, weekend meals, on-site medical and behavioral health, and rides to other providers. It is a Coordinated Entry access site, so this is where to walk in for shelter and homelessness-prevention referrals.
Urban Ministries of Durham
Durham's primary public shelter for single men and women, with nine family rooms, a cafe serving three free meals every day of the year, and a food pantry and clothing closet. Shelter placement goes through Entry Point Durham, which currently does intakes by phone only.
Greensboro Urban Ministry
Runs Weaver House shelter for single adults, Pathways family shelter, a food pantry, Potter's House daily lunch, and walk-in utility disconnect help for Guilford County. Shelter beds fill fast, so the ministry asks people to call the Weaver House desk repeatedly during morning hours.
AHOPE Day Center
Asheville's low-barrier day center where showers, breakfast, mail, lockers, phone, and Wi-Fi are available each weekday morning, followed by case management for IDs, housing applications, and job documents. Re-Entry Services
County-run voluntary case management for people returning to Mecklenburg County from state or federal prison or a local jail sentence, with partner help for ID, treatment and medication, job training, work supplies, medical and dental care, housing, and peer support. Referrals can be submitted before release.
DOCCS Re-Entry Operations
The state prison system's reentry unit coordinates release planning and referrals for housing, medical and mental health care, and ID, Medicaid, and Social Security applications, partly through County Re-Entry Task Forces. Cleveland's largest men's emergency shelter, with room for up to 365 men a night plus overflow beds. Men can walk in without an appointment; countywide shelter intake also runs through 211.

Residential placement requires a referral from a judge or parole officer; community services take direct calls.
Franklin County Reentry Services
