Pacific Garden Mission
Chicago's oldest rescue mission, with separate shelters for men, women, and mothers with children plus addiction recovery and meals. Men's intake runs weekday mornings on a first-come basis; women's beds rarely run out.
Who it's for
Not a registered sex offender, able to walk independently, not on IDOC or county electronic monitoring, no diagnosis of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or schizoaffective disorder
How to get in
Arrive in person; men line up for a limited number of daily slots starting 7:30am Mon–Fri.
What to bring
Any medications you take must be with you at intake
