North Carolina Refugee Assistance Program
NC State Refugee Office, NCDHHS Division of Social Services
Administers cash and medical assistance for the first 12 months after arrival plus employment services, case management, English classes, and immigration help for refugees, asylees, trafficking victims, and SIV and parolee populations. Applications are taken at county DSS offices rather than the state office.
Who it's for
ORR-eligible populations: refugees, asylees, Cuban/Haitian entrants, certified trafficking victims, Amerasians, SIV holders, Afghan and Ukrainian parolees; most services end five years after arrival or at citizenship. Cash assistance requires an employability plan
