Extended Foster Care / Young Adult Program
Arizona Department of Child Safety
Lets young adults who were in Arizona foster care stay in or return to care at ages 18, 19 or 20 with a monthly living stipend, a DCS Specialist and a case plan built around school, work or a medical condition. Youth who already left care can re-enter any time before their 21st birthday through the local Transitional Independent Living Program provider.
Who it's for
Ages 18–20, Arizona resident, former foster youth; also youth 14+ in care and anyone adopted from foster care at 16 or older for YAP services
How to get in
Current youth: ask your DCS Specialist. Re-entry: contact the local Transitional Independent Living Program (Successful Transition to Adulthood) provider and sign a Voluntary Extended Foster Care Agreement
