Education and Training Voucher (ETV) Program

Up to $5,000 per school year toward tuition, books, housing, and living costs for current and former foster youth under 26 attending a Pell-eligible school. Apply online with form DHS-5339 between July 1 and April 1.

Who it's for

Under age 26, high school diploma or GED, accepted to an accredited Pell-eligible school, with qualifying foster care, adoption, or transfer-of-custody history

How to get in

Submit the ETV application (DHS-5339) between July 1 and April 1, or answer yes to the FAFSA foster care question at a Fostering Independence Grant school

Proof of school acceptance; returning students show progress toward degree
